Bentley University Begins Demolition on Adamian Academic Center Transformation
Bentley University has begun a major $85M renovation of the Adamian Academic Center, designed by studioDSK to introduce cutting-edge labs, collaborative spaces, and a new café; advancing the university’s Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship initiative.
Bentley University has commenced a transformative renovation and expansion of its Adamian Academic Center, marking one of the most significant capital projects since the university's relocation to Waltham in the 1960s. The $85 million initiative aims to modernize the existing structure and introduce new spaces that align with Bentley's commitment to technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Originally constructed in the 1980s, the Adamian Academic Center has been a central hub for faculty and students. However, as Provost Paul Tesluk noted, the building was "ready for an overhaul," lacking the technological capabilities and collaborative spaces essential for contemporary education.
The reimagined center, designed by studioDSK, will feature:
- State-of-the-art facilities, including an AI lab and a 3D printing lab, to foster hands-on learning.
- Enhanced collaborative spaces for students and faculty to encourage interdisciplinary engagement.
- A new café, introducing the first food option in that area of campus.
- Renovated auditorium and exterior improvements to capitalize on the building's hilltop location.
This project is a cornerstone of Bentley's Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (TIE) initiative, aiming to create a central hub that integrates key academic centers and promotes a culture of innovation across disciplines.
Construction is underway, with completion expected by the start of the fall 2027 semester.
