How We Work

We lead immersive workshops that spark dialogue and challenge assumptions. Our process is collaborative and hands-on. We bring models, drawings, and physical prompts to every engagement. Whether in the studio or on site, we tailor each approach to reflect the mission and culture of our clients. Design moves through listening, iteration, and impact, always grounded in context and guided by purpose.

What Drives Us

We care deeply about the work we do and the people we do it with. Our team is motivated by mission-driven work. We shape schools, research institutions, and cultural spaces that reflect purpose and relevance. We believe in candor with care, leadership at every level, and an “all in” mindset built on mutual understanding. Whether prototyping in BoilerWorks, gathering around the Big Table, or guiding a Visioning Workshop, we stay curious and committed to design that makes a difference.

Where We Create

We work across New England and the Atlantic with an unwavering sense of stewardship for the people and places that make each community special. Our studios in Concord and South Dartmouth, Massachusetts, anchor us. We serve clients across Boston, the Cape and Islands, the South Shore, and Newport. We also design for select private island projects in the British Virgin Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas. Every location brings a new context, and we respond with care and creative focus.

our CORE VALUES

Our core values are what unite us. They guide how we collaborate, how we lead, and how we grow. They shape every relationship we build, every idea we pursue, and every space we create.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice

At studioDSK, we believe diverse voices, equitable practices, and inclusive communities make design stronger and more enduring. Our Social and Racial Justice Group meets weekly to foster action and accountability, with leadership at every level of the studio.
We are actively pursuing the JUST 3.0 Label as part of our ongoing commitment to transparency, equity, and collective impact. We view social equity and environmental sustainability as inseparable, and proudly align our work with the goals of the AIA 2030 Commitment.
At studioDSK, diversity means welcoming new perspectives. Inclusion means making space for every voice to help shape the work. Belonging means building a studio where everyone can lead, create, and thrive as themselves.

Advancing Practice Through Learning

Lunch + Learns

We believe that continuous learning strengthens both our practice and our projects. Lunch + Learns bring together industry professionals, manufacturers, and members of our team to share emerging knowledge across architecture, design, planning, and construction. These sessions create space for active dialogue, fresh ideas, and real-time application of new technologies and techniques.

They also support our commitment to professional excellence. Presentations are often eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) required by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), ensuring that staff stay current with licensure requirements while expanding our collective understanding of materials, methods, and innovations shaping the built environment.

studioDSK | U

studioDSK | U is our internal “university” — a platform to deepen architectural, technical, and design expertise across the studio. Customized educational programs reflect our evolving practice areas, with topics spanning sustainability, project delivery, materials research, construction innovation, and design strategy. Select presentations are accredited for CEUs, allowing team members to advance their professional development while contributing to a culture of shared knowledge. By formalizing internal learning, we ensure access to new thinking, refined skills, and tools to shape enduring and transformative work.

studioDSK 101 introduces interns and emerging professionals to the fundamentals of our practice. Led by experienced team members, the program covers leadership, marketing, architectural and interior design, and studio operations. It provides a strong foundation for growth and integrates new voices into our culture from day one.
