Drop In elevation sketch

The project renovates the primary residence and transforms the on-site barn into a guest house, creating a flexible compound close to downtown Nantucket. The main house wraparound porch extends the living room to the pool and lawn, while the barn conversion adds bedrooms and casual living for extended family and friends. Open kitchens in both dwellings support easy entertainment and day-to-day circulation between interior rooms and outdoor spaces.
Within the island preservation context, the design keeps the property working yard character while upgrading comfort, resilience, and connectivity to the landscape. Proximity to Town and the beach corridor reinforces the project idea of easy gathering, easy biking out, and easy settling back by the pool.

Site Circulation
Composition
Porch, lawn, and pool act as shared outdoor rooms that organize circulation between house and barn. Large openings and simple, flexible plans amplify sightlines for supervision and socializing, while the guest house increases capacity without losing the intimacy of a single-family home.
